From the Superintendent
Talofa lava ~ Ni sa bula vinaka ~ Malo e lelei ~ Kia Ora ~ Greetings
If you are a visitor passing through Wellington, we hope you enjoy your visit with us, and will encourage your friends and family to visit when they are in Wellington.
If you are a newcomer to Wellington, looking for a Christian faith community, we hope that you will find something here to meet your needs.
The people of our parish come from all over the greater Wellington area. For most people, to travel to a central city church is a deliberate choice. Some people make Wellington Methodist Parish their “church home” because it is Methodist. Many enjoy the multi-racial nature of the parish.
Our parish has a long history of engaging with the social and political issues of the day. The present Wesley Community Action (formerly Wesley Wellington Mission) began its life as the Wesley Social Services Trust, which was an activity of the parish.
The parish is a member church of DCM, located in the central city on Lukes Lane. DCM provides a range of services including a Food Bank and a Street People’s Programme, as well as challenging and seeking change in unjust social and political systems.
Wellington Methodist people come from every walk of life. The diversity that we cherish is sometimes challenging and always enriching.
Whatever your personal circumstances or religious beliefs are, you will always be welcome here.
Grace and peace to you.
